ABS Sensors

ABS sensors, or Anti-lock Braking System sensors, are crucial components of a vehicle's braking system. They monitor the speed of each wheel and send this data to the ABS control module. This helps the ABS system prevent wheel lock-up during hard braking, maintaining vehicle control and stability.

Functions of ABS Sensors:

1. Wheel Speed Monitoring: They measure how fast each wheel is spinning.
2. Data Transmission: They send speed data to the ABS control module.
3. System Response: The ABS module uses this data to modulate braking pressure and prevent skidding.

Signs That an ABS Sensor Needs Replacing:

1. ABS Warning Light: If this light appears on the dashboard, it could indicate a problem with one or more ABS sensors.
2. Inconsistent Braking: If you notice the brakes engaging unpredictably or the ABS system kicking in more often than usual.
3. Wheel Lock-Up: If the wheels lock up during hard braking, the ABS system may not be functioning properly.
4. Traction Control Issues: If the vehicle's traction control system is behaving erratically or if the traction control light is on, it could be linked to a faulty ABS sensor.
