Suction Control Valves

A Suction Control Valve (SCV) is an essential component of the fuel injection system in common rail diesel engines. Its primary function is to regulate the amount of fuel that is supplied to the high-pressure fuel pump by controlling the suction side of the pump. It ensures that the fuel pressure within the common rail remains optimal for the engine's current operating conditions, contributing to efficient fuel combustion, improved engine performance, and reduced emissions.

Symptoms of a Failing Suction Control Valve:

• Poor engine performance: A faulty SCV can cause hesitation or stalling, particularly at low speeds.
• Starting issues: Difficulty in starting the engine due to improper fuel pressure.
• Erratic idling: The engine may idle roughly or fluctuate in RPMs.
• Decreased fuel efficiency: The engine may consume more fuel due to inconsistent fuel pressure regulation.
• Check Engine Light (CEL): The ECU may detect improper fuel pressure and trigger the CEL.
